Three is a Magic Number
More than seven years ago, I had an idea for another business – to design and create Christian themed products. I came up with a name and even started to create its branding. I did a few calendars and greeting cards for family, friends and my local church but I never really pursued it any further at the time. However, I always held onto this idea believing that one day……
Fast forward to 2012. I decided to email a lady I first met at a business workshop about 18 mths – 2yrs ago. I hadn’t spoken to her in about a year, so I thought I’d say hi! and see how her childminding business was going. She responded and also mentioned another business venture she had thought about starting. We talked further and as it happened, it turns out to be the same idea I had! We arranged to meet up and I found out she had initially intended to partner with someone else but it fell through. Likewise, only days before I was thinking of forming a partnership, however the person I had in mind never responded to my proposal. At the end of the meeting, we both agreed to work together.
Weeks later I was thinking to myself, “it would be handy to have someone who writes poetry”. The person that sprung to my mind from when I lived in Manchester, I was no longer in contact with, hence why it just remained a thought that I never disclosed. Two days before I was due to meet up again with my new business partner, she calls me saying she had been speaking to another lady who expressed an interest in our business idea and she wanted to invite her to our meeting. I agreed and when I met her, we got talking and I couldn’t believe it when she told me what she does – she wrote poetry! And the person she had initially planned to illustrate her poems? It never transpired.
So here we are, three ladies, all Christians (though neither of us belong to the same denomination), brought together…….by chance? or was it destiny?
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7)

How wonderful, Lorna. Hope that it all goes well for all three of you. I don’t believe in co-incidence. My steps are definitely ordered by God.
